Portsmouth City Council is currently looking for additional Passenger Transport Assistants to travel with children to and from schools and colleges in Portsmouth and further afield, taking responsibility for the children’s safety and well-being. Successful applicants will be able to build a good rapport with children with special educational needs, and will need to become familiar with the operation of specialist equipment, for example car seats, vehicle passenger lifts, ramps and wheelchair restraints in case of emergency.
PCC are currently looking for relief passenger transport assistants who can work with us when colleagues are absent for short or longer term reasons. We anticipate that we will shortly be recruiting to a number of permanent posts, and will recruit initially from the relief passenger transport pool. The hours are typically 08.00am to 09.30am and 14.30 to 16.15.
