As of Monday 1st July to Friday 5th July 2019, Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) will carry out a joint inspection of Portsmouth City Council.
The inspection will evaluate how effectively your local area:
– identifies children/young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities
– assesses and meets the needs of children/young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities
– improves outcomes for children/young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities.
The inspection will also include an online webinar which will allow parent carers in the Portsmouth City Council local area to have their say.
The session will be available on demand, and they are asking parent carers to share their views and experiences on how effectively Portsmouth City Council are fulfilling the above responsibilities.
PPV understand that many parent carers may have personal views and experiences that extend before the implementation of the reforms in September 2014, it is important that this date is used as the start for gathering evidence about the impact of the reforms as part of the inspection.
We would also like parent carers to understand that the inspectors are unable to follow up or comment upon individual cases.
The webinar will be available on demand between Monday 24th June and midnight on Tuesday 2nd July 2019. Please note this webinar can be re-accessed if additional time is required to a make comment.
